Will my stoma still work while wearing a support belt?

The answer to this question is that yes, it will. A stoma is a muscle and so it will still produce an output, even when it has a belt over the top. However, it is recommended that the belt be released every 1-2 hrs. to allow that continuous flow for a short time. You also should discuss this with your STN, as every stoma is different.
